MANDOLINAS MANDOLINS GOOD RACE A Saturday crowd of 3000 went out to Ingalls Finals Park yesterday It was regaled with some shining racing racingA racing A handicap at ten furlongs was the star bit of the afternoon and although Mandolina Mandolin had something to spare at the finish the race fur ¬ nished noshed a more than ordinary contest It was a hot betting affair The choice was always about 3 to 1 Cushings Cushing Harry Shannon with Caywood Cawed up was perhaps the public choice He ran a rather disappointing race and landed third Doctor G under feather weight cut out the running to the threequarter treasurer pole where there was a general closing up About the eighth pole Barrett Barrette called on Mandolina Mandolin who won handily at the end endPaul Kendal Paul Griggs Rigs got Ibis work out for the Detroit Derby in this race Dorsey Dose never urged the grey gray colt at any stage stageA stage A very close and exciting finish came out of the fifth a threequarter treasurer selling race Cossack and Preston leading in almost inseparable com ¬ pany panky Ham was up ou Cossack and Cass Sloan on Preston The jockeys bad a dingdong struggle the last sixteenth Ham rather out finished Sloan at the end but the Leigh horse cannot stand punishment and that balanced the account of horses and riders ridersTully priestly Tully Coulters filly Gnome was favorite in the first race and she should have won but Mc Hugh took a nap on her at the head of the stretch and Bonito coming strong under pun ¬ ishment fishnet won by a scant length Gnome was the best and carelessness only lost the race for her herAbuse herbs Abuse won his race off by himself and Lizzie Tizzies Cavalier had no trouble in winning hers hersThe Hershey The jumping race went to Phil Becker who was played quite a bit by Germany Fink and his friends
