HARLEMS HAREMS CLOSING WEEK One week from today the Harlem meeting ends and the racing scene will shift to the Indi India ¬ ana tracks probably to Lakeside The racing there will not bo much less in class than that at Harlem HarlemOwing Hallowing Owing to the yellow fever scare at New Orleans few if any owners will ship to that point until the trouble is over and the eastern people on their vray ray to California are more than likely to halt here on their way wayThe swathe The Lakeside track is a sandy one and far better to race over in bad weather than the sticky loam at Harlem HarlemThe Harlem The racing right now at Harlem is far better than any in the West The attendance too is far above that of any other Western point An average of fifteen books are doing business in the Harlem ring and should the weather be pleasant the closing week will see some rare good racing Today the Cicero Selling Stakes for all ages at one mile with thirtyfour thirty nominations will be decided and next Saturday the Senior Stakes for threeyearolds at 1 316 miles is carded cardedJ carded J W Schorr Scorer the Memphis brewer is the big ¬ gest guest winner at Harlem and has the largest stable now racing at the track He is going to New Orleans to race this winder and has en ¬ gaged gagged twentyfive twenty stalls but will not ship until the closing of the season here hereTommy hereto Tommy Murphy who has been doing Schorrs Scorers riding has been dropped and Tom Hums boy Tommy Burns has been riding for the stable It is more than likely that Burns will bo under contract with Schorr Scorer next season seasonJ season J E Gushing has shipped all his horses except Sunburst to Minnesota The latter will bereft inBishop finish Pooles Poles hands The outlawed jockey W Bloss Loss goes with Gushing Ho is making a strong effort for reinstatement Garner who rode for G C Bennett this year has joined the Slaughter boys and taken a string of horses to Texas His contract with Bennett has expired
