GOOD THINGS WIN AT LAKESIDE The Lakeside ring got a jolt yesterday that it will long remember Two heavily played good things went through throughLouis throughout Louis Ezell Bezel furnished the first He started his Inspector B Sun Maid filly Espirage Sprague in the second race and opening at 15 to one a false price she was backed down to 3 to 1 Rutter Ruttier had the mount and getting away fifth went to the front early He took no chances and wont by ten lengths to the good at the finish finishS finishes S C Wagner gave the ring its second blow In the fifth race a fivefurlong riverfront dash he started Alabaster On form it looked as though Meddler should win and he was made an even money favorite Alabaster opened at 6 to 1 but under sharp play his price was cut down to 23 to 1 Meddler receded to 8 to 5 There was nothing to the race It seemed as though all but Ala ¬ baster had waiting orders and naturally the Wagner colt scored Meddler took the long route and finished on the extreme outside outsideThe outside The only real close finish of the day came out of the fourth a mile selling race Morte Mote Fonse Fosse was the best of the lot and was made an 8 to 5 favorite He was high in flesh and far from fit He ran a good race though and was beaten only a short head by Albertvale Alberta Morte Mote Fonse Fosse is a hard horse to ride and Turner hardly did him justice justiceSpanish justices Spanish Princess with Bloss Loss up had a nasty fall in the first race but both horse and rider escaped with a mere shaking up The filly was in front when she fell and considering the size of the field Bloss Loss was extremely lucky luckyJ lucky J E Cushings Cushing Boundless colt Bounding nicely ridden by Cass Sloan won the three quarter dash for threeyearolds and Moncreith Noncredit at a liberal price easily disposed of Marito Marion and Newsgatherer Newscaster in the last race raceKnowles acknowledge Knowles Snowless who was cut down in his race Sat ¬ urday hurdy has been destroyed So has Grand March who was hurt in yesterdays 2yearold
