STAKES AT WASHINGTON PARK Three stake events will be disposed of at Washington Park this week The first of the three the Lakeside Stakes for 2yearold fillies is to be decided this afternoon and from the list of starters elsewhare elsewhere published in this edition it can be seen that it is to be contested by the pick of the western feminine stars of that age ageThursday gestures Thursday will bring about the decision of the Englewood Stake for 3yearold fillies It is at one mile and judging from the entries should bring about a smashing good race Ed Corri Corrie gaus gauds good Morello Marcello filly Sardonic winner of last Saturdays Latonia Antonia Oaks Uarda Guardia winner of the Cincinnati Oaks Crockft Crock winner of the Kentucky Oaks and such other proved good fillies as Daisy F Miss Gussie Gussied Eva Rice Mar ¬ tha than II Hurly Burly St Callatine Palatine Alleviate Algareta Algarve Graziella Grazie Lizzie Tizzies Cavalier Ferroll Ferro Her Favor Ollie Mollie Dixon and Flora Louise are among the eligibles eligible and as nearly all of those named are now in good form it really appears probable that tho thou Englewood may be contested by about the largest field that lever contested for its honors The Oakwood Lakewood Handicap is the third event It will be run off Saturday The weights appor vapor ¬ tioned toned the sixtyone sixty horses entered appear in this edition One man can guess as well as an ¬ other what the acceptances and starters will be but there is no reason to doubt that there will be a big field and a royal race The Oak wood has always been one of the most attrac attract ¬ tive tie of the Washington Park stake races and has annually been contested by the highest class western handicap horses It will not fall below its standard this year
