race and was strongly ridden Barrett Barrette took him in down the back stretch and thus avoided the early pace He never made a move until the eighth pole and then came with a rush The Manxman Mamma ran his usual good race He is more than a useful horse can carry weight and has courage He was worked out a mile in 1 42 after the race Traverser Traverse seems to bo getting good He seemed to be winning at the sixteenth pole but weakened right at the end Hurly Burly and Dave Waldo Weald raced each other to pieces the first five furlongs Both tired badly and were staggering at the finish The race caused considerable talk From a time standpoint it should Both Hurly Burly and Dave Wajdo Wad have run much faster with more weight up This is one of the many queer things of horse racing though meeting Macy Marcy is as game as they make them He tried hard every inch of the way He simply met his superior Through the stretch he bore in a trifle and three different times Burns had to Jay his whip aside and straighten him out with his hands Few horses after being carried so fast and getting the punishment this colt did would hardly gamelyScratched have stood it as gamely Scratched Hugh magnificently ridden through the sttetch stretch Good rich seems to be greatly improved Ho came from behind and stood Thorpes Thorps powerful drive gamely It was a very pretty race Boanerges Beaneries was in a very bad place the last sixteenth He was in between Goodrich and David Tenny Teeny This prevented Caywood Cawed from helping him to any great extent when the pinch came David Tenny Teeny is game Martin was at work ion him the last quarter His ride was full of power too Martha II shot her bolt early Fousavannah seemed stiff and sore in his preliminary and did not run his race Overweights around tho thou field The horse was game and made a strong bid in the stretch J H C ran a good race He had about as much bad luck as Indra Indrawn Both should have beaten Lew Blew Hopper Cash Day away
