and in a soft spot She was by far the class of the field and won as she should off by herself This is a good filly and will beat bettor oues coupes St Alfonses Alfonso D favored by the soft track ran a good race He was lucky though to get the place With an equal break and anything liko like good handling Hehenzollern would have been second The latter was away poorly and rirtden ridden all over the track The other boys have certainly got Conley Coney frightened and anything he nd nds ands s is a bad betting proposition Dr Sharp showed a little speed but not much He seems to bo f 110 present way and stuck gamely when the pinch came Muskalonge Muskellunge slovv Slav to begin was poorly ridden but finished strong Lew Blew Hopper seemed to be going easily on the far turn but stopped badly at ordinary selling plater platter and greatly improved since Johnston let him go Topmast was nicely ridden Barrett Barrette galloped in behind his field until the stretch was reached and then came on about his business He got the place as easily as Fiorouso Fibrous won Afamadas Alameda forte is speed and she is a sprinter only Indra Indrawn could markScratched not gallop in the going His race was and interfered with too on the far turn Canace Cancel off poorly was raced to pieces trying to get up She seemed to have the place cinched at the head of the stretch The Kentuckian was well up the the best as ihe he race was run and had McNicklo Canticle sat still he could not have lost Ho was almost three lengths clear of the field at the eighth pole and apparently galloping The boy became a little careless and looked around to give bums the laugh Before he knew what had happened Azucena Sauce was at his side McNickle Canticle then lost his head and wabbled warbled all over The Devil the last twenty yards Had Clawson Lawson ridden the latter ho couid could not have lost Azucena Sauce is a very game hlly hilly the seemed to be laboring down the back stretch and Burns was hand riding her the last halt When straightened away it did not seem as though she had a possible chance She responded gamely though under severe punish ¬ ment meant and won in the very last stride The Tarcoon
