HARLEMS HAREMS FAST RACING Harlem racing was of the usual quality but the crowd was greater than the ordinary one because of the institution known as Ladies Day The weaiher wearier was as hot as any of the past three weeks and the blazing sun pouring into the grandstand caused the recurrence of the remark I wish they had built the grand ¬ stand on the other side of the track notwith nitwit ¬ standing the fact that the dead in the ceme came ieries fieriest might have been disturbed Surely the sexton is apt to have much work through the lack of shade afforded to the patrons of Harlem The place To a splendid start the entire lot held together in a bunch for the first sixteenth Boney Bony B6y in the lead at first then being displaced by Batten on whom Burns said Good bye boys and ran off with the purse At the far turn Excursion dropped out of it Boney Bony Boy was second into the home stretch but soon was killed off by Canace Cancel who ran to the wire easily second while Miss Marks coming from far behind at the last eighth just managed to get third money Espionage trying gamely was sunk by the weight weightFound eightfold Found jumped to the front to a good start for all but Pacemaker and up the back stretch Jed Don Orsino Orinoco by two open lengths St Alfonses Alfonso D third heading the bunch several lengths away Found was caught by Don Orsino Orinoco at the last threesixteenths post although Burns had to ride hard to catch up Once alongside how ¬ ever Tommy took a nice hold on the favorite waiting for Found to quit and Huffmans Huffman filly stopping gradually Don Or ino Kino won with something to spare Nathanson Nathan gave tit Al fonsps floss D a tussle for the third mono but was beaten beatenFor beaten For the fourth time of the day the favorite won but Abuse was ridden by Bloss Loss whereas Tommy Burns had piloted Sangamon Seagram Batten and Don Orsino Orinoco Abuse outran his field from the start and was not headed The second L4 ion was Abe Furst Furs and George H Ketcham Ketch and the pair1 closed to the satidle stile skirts of Abuse at the last 150 yards But Fosters sprinter who had been flirting here went on and was easily first passing the judges Bloss Loss rode such a race as was common to Chicago race goers in the days when John McCafferty apparently just fished in his sprinter Creole George H Ketcham Ketch ridden by J Reiff Riff finished second Abe Furst Furs and he racing through the home stretch for the place Newsgatherer Newscaster and Libertine were away back in the order named As little Reiff Riff could not keep his horse straierht strainer George H Ketcham Ketch bumped Abe Furst Furs and for this Col Cool Clark disqualified him giving Abe Furst Furs second and Newsgatherer Newscaster third money The presiding judge said I didnt didn't punish the boy who did as well as he could But he was not strong enough to keep his horse straight straightThen straight Then the corneter connecter of Banks
