little interference at the eighth pole always I ad a clear patb pat He took the short route on the stretch turn and had a hard struggle with Lady Ellerslie Wellesley for nearly an eighth The latter weakened first and at the end the colt had some ¬ thing left Lady Ellerslie Wellesley ran a nice race She set her own pace and did the best she could when the pinch came Bannockburn Bannock looked a sure winner all down the back stretch He was gnllopiug galloping under a stout pull and could have gone to the front at any stage When called upon in the stretch though he had nothing left aud Maud edge Espionage ran a game race from a poor beginning She was under a drive the entire route Canace Cancel off well was third through pure luck She could not possibly have beaten Boney Bony Boy had the latter got anything like an equal break This colt has improved wonderfully He was standing flat footed when the barrier went up and also met with interfer interfere ¬ ence fence in the race Stamina was under a strong pull alltbewaj althea If this is Levels style of riding ho will have to have the best horse in the country under him to win a race Orderly was a disappointment He seems to boa weakened a trifle right at the end The early pace killed Bryan McNickle Canticle got him off flying and I tried to make every post a winning one Warren Point was bumped and jostled a lot during tha than race He was right there though at the finish Little Singer off in the rear division made up a lot badlyScratched backscratcher of ground The Tory looked dangerous on the turn but stopped badly
