MOKE SMOKE OF BURNS CASK CASKE CAKE E F Simms Sims the owner of the good twoyear twofer old The Kentuckian holds the contract on Jockey T Burns which was signed by the boys parents This contract is for a period of two years dating from next January and provides for the boy receiving a retainer of 2500 per annum annumMy annum My father and mother have realized what a mistake they made when they signed that con ¬ tract said Jockey Burns yesterday They were told that I was not capable of taking care of myself and that the Schorrs Scorers were not look ¬ ing King after my welfare Simms Sims contract calls for a yearly retainer of 2500 for two seasons to be paid to my parents They received 2500 when they signed the contract My father at the time thought that a bird in hand was better than two in the bush but he didnt didn't realize what a mistake he was making However it makes no difference My contract with Schorr Scorer Son was drawn up and signed before my parents affixed their signatures to the Simms Sims contract and Mr Schorr Scorer has the letter they wrote me authorizing me to make my own contract Simms Sims had second call on me last season for which he paid Tom Hums 2COO Hums sold my release to Schorr Scorer Son last winter for 7000 The contract he had on me was an iron ¬ clad one In it there was no provision for the payment of the usual riding fees feesMr fees Mr Schorr Scorer is giving me 15 for winning mounts and 5 for losing mounts just the same besides 50 for riding any of his horses to vic ¬ tory in stakes He doesnt doesn't have to do this aud Maud such generosity on his part is doubly appreci appreciate ¬ ated acted by me and I intend to stick to him to the last I have always taken good care of my i parents sending my father 100 every two or three weeks weeksMy Weeks My parents reside in Chatham Ontario I bought them a house and lot up there and bought the lot next door to our house this sum ¬ mer mere This real estate was deeded to my parents My fathers health is not very good and he is not able to work much I have several brothers and sisters but they are all young with the ex ¬ ception caption of an elder sister whom I am now edu ed ¬ cating canting Mr Schorr Scorer has contracted to pay me a retainer of 8000 per annum for two years Under this contract I can make 15000 a year and I am satisfied the courts will not force me to live up to Simms Sims contract I am eighteen years old and was with Hums for five years Of course I am grateful for the trouble and ex ¬ pense pens he went to in developing me but I think he has been amply repal repeal for all he did for ine cine St Louis Republic
