HAMBURG SENT WEST As stated informally some time ago Marcus Dalys Days noted threeyearold champion Ham ¬ burg has probably seen his last days as a racing machine When ihe he Saratoga association made overtures in the early stages of their mooting for a special race to include the great son of Hanover Lady Reel bis bias owner replied that the colt would not run again in America This answer was accepted by some horsemen as in ¬ dicating dilating that Hamburg might race in England but that idea now seems to be exploded at least as far as this season is concerned Hamburg has been shipped west to his owners Bitter Root Stud accompanied by his fleet stable compan company ¬ ions Ogden and Isidor Insider All three have proved good winners for the sporting Copper King since the season opened and their retirement if permanent will cause general surprise After his unexpected defeat in the Belmont Stakes Hamburg began to show his true form and his name will be treasured in racing his ¬ tory as the winner of the Realization Stakes and the Brighton Cup Ogden ran second in the latter event and prior to that won an own ¬ ers handicap at Brighton Beach and the Long Island Handicap and an overnight event at the Sheepshead Shepherd Bay spring meeting Isidor Insider scored a few times among the best of the sprinters and the trio are at no lack for laurels on which to rest until they winresh wines ones at the stud New York Sun
