ETHELIJEKTS NEW OWNEK ONE The turf has received a number of powerful new acquisitions this year most notable of which perhaps have been the advent of Mr William C Whitney and oxCorporation vociferation Coun Count ¬ sel seal W H Clark among the lists of prominent owners It now appears to be reasonably cer Acer ¬ tain stain that Mr Perry Belmont intends to follow the example so worthily set by Mr Whitney and Mr Clark ClarkThat Clark That is to say Mr Belmont is again getting together a string of thoroughbreds and high class ones too It is not his first appearance in racing A few years ago he owned that ster steer ¬ ling performer Magian Meagan and a number of other horses Magian Meagan however broke down and was retired to the stud and the remainder of Mr Belmonts Belmont string not being of quite the calibre caliber that suited his fancy were disposed of ofNow Ono Now Mr Belmont is beginning all over again and in the right way He was the real pur pour ¬ chaser of Mr Galways Always Ethelbert Ethel at the Morris Park sale a few days ago when that colt was knocked down to the bid of A J Joyner Joiner for 11600 It transpires also that he was the act ¬ ual dual buyer of John E Maddens Frohsinn Rosin re ¬ cently gently sold to Joyner Joiner for 5500 Joyner Joiner formerly trained for Mr Belmont and will probably have charge of this new lot of horses that he is getting together togetherThe together The decision of Mr Belmont to reenter upon a turf career is most encouraging Men of the calibre caliber of himself Mr Whjtney Whitney and Mr Clark are just the sort that are needed in racing It is to bo hoped that he niay nay not stop at his recent purchases but that ho will continue un ¬ til tail he has collected together a stable of high class racers Ho has certainly made a good be ¬ ginning in Ethelbert Ethel and Frobsinn Robin as those 2yearolds are among the best of the year Morning Telegraph
