Nonchalance got a bad ride. The mud fits him, too. Espirando ran bel w the notch. 8o did Ulm. The latter was poorly ridden and is best on hard going. Colonel Dan is a coward. She was not well managed. Neither was Cyril. He closed a lot of ground and was less than well ridden. Watch this fellow on soft going. Sybaris is a mudlark, too. When beaten he was eased up. Malay was not at his best, but ran a good race in going he dislikes. Dun-praise ran an honest race. Ho is a plodder and good in soft around. Polka ran a bad race and is beat on a dry, hard track. Robert Bonner ran a good honest race and was fortunate on the turns. Elidad was off badly and cut off at critical points. The race will benefit him and he will be beard from if the track continues heavy. Frank Jaubert seemed to do his best. Tom Cromwell dislikes mud. Peter Weber had no chance. Rosinante closed up a lot of ground in the last quarter and was gaining fast at the finish. Moringa ran as if short. Frohman it in bad form and had nothing to do with the race. Lroonnell showed improvement over his last race and was much the best of the others. Sweet William ran his race but suffered from weak handling. Pat Murphy was outclassed but is good in mud and in condition to win when placed right. Wyoming exhausted himself by running away twice before the start. Bellicoso wants a dry, fast track. Scratched Defender III., 99; Highland Ball, 105; Ed Gartland II., 167. O Connell, place, 4 to 5. Sweet William, show, 7 to 10.
