HORSES AT MEMPHIS. Memphis, Texx., January 30. The arrival of A. H. and D. H. Morris and Senator J. 8. OBriens stables at Montgomery Park, adds two strings of representative horses to the colony that are wintering here. The Morris horses are receiving considerable attention, because of their prominence. The stable includes: Manuel, b. c, 3, by Bob Miles Espanita. Kentucky Colonel, b. c. 3, by Kantaka Noc-turn. Dont Care, br. c, 4, by Galore Minerva. Triaditza, b. f, 2, by Russell Bulgaria. Bonnivard, ch. c, 2, by Russell Bonella. Insurrection, b. f, 2, by Russell Llntri-guaate. Lady Contrary, b. f, 2, by Russell Lady Mc-Nairy. Silver Fizz, ch. f, 2, by Silver Fox Tonique. Petit Maitre, ch. c, 2, by Cayuga Prudery. The Bowling Brook Stable, which is Messrs. A. H. and D. H. Morris and R. W. Walden and Sons, have entered Kentucky Colonel in the Luehr-mann Hotel Stake, and Manuel and Kentucky Colonel in the Montgomery and Peabody Hotel Handicaps. The horses stood the trip from Middleburg, Md., well, and are in good condition. Of the two three-year-olds Manuel is much the better looker. He has improved in appearance, and will be a prominent factor in the western three-year-old events. The majority of the best class of western horses are already at Montgomery Park, including the stables of J. W. Schorr and Son, C. T. Patterson, W. H. Laudeman, T. P. Hayes, J. C. Calm, A. Cahn, George C. Bennett, J. J. Mark-lein, W. H. Robinson, J. Desha, W. W. Darden, W. M. Hayes, W. H. May and Son, J. . OBrien, T. E. Barrett, J. B. Lewman, P. M. Civill, J. E. Murphy, P. Tomlinson and Co., and numbors o smaller stables. Mrs. W. S. Barnes will ship The Lady in Blue, b. f, 3, by Himyar British Blue Blood, a half sister to Wilson, to J. W. Schorr and Son, to be prepared for the Tennessee Oaks. Brown Dick is pointing Souchon, Eugene Leigh, May Hempstead; Carroll Roid, Freak; E. Corrigan, Chi-mura; J. J. Marklein, Matanza; Bob Tucker, Gay Parisienne; A. Calm, May dOr; T. J. Mc-Hale, Our Nellie, and Thomas Nepper, Florence Austin, for this filly stake, which will be worth about ,500 to the winner. The two-year-olds at Montgomery Park are stepping right quarters in 23 and three-e"ighths in 36 seconds. P. Tomlinson and Co. have a stable of fifteen here, eight of which are well-bred, good-looking two-year-olds, as follows: The Conqueror, blk. c, 2, by Sir Dixon Repeat. Hackmeister, b. c, 2, by Hindoo Alpena, dam of Alpen. May Forbes, b. f, 2, by Hanover Etelka. Lottie Forbes, b. f, 2, by Leonatus Belle of Runnymede. Butterfly, b. f, 2, by Leonatus Lady of the Lake. Full sister to Leo Lake. Slattery, ch. g, 2, by Tea Tray Minnewaska. Bay filly, 2, by Leonatus Miss Eppie, The three-year-olds that will race here represent all that pertains to class in the west, including Manuel, Kentucky Colonel, W. Overton, Sea Lion, Ordnung, Onomastus, Matanza, May dOr, The Barrister, Jolly Roger, Leo Planter, Nobleman, Fausturo, Sir Gatian. These are already here, while stable room has been re- served for The Kentuckian, Corsini, Deering, Golden Link, The Pride, His Lordship, and many others. The meeting promises to be a great success.
