NOTES OF THE TURF. The charge against Sidney Bender of endeavoring to influence another to either boost or claim Prince Harry in a recent selling race at New Orleans was dismissed, as the evidence was not considered sufficient to warrant other action. Bender, however, was given a word of warning in the matter. The place price on 3trongoli, third race at Ingleside, in Tuesdays Daily Racing Form, was an error in telegraphy. It should have been evens instead of 2 to 1. The wires were bad and the chart came by Wheatstone, so that checking was not possible. Out in Frisco they have it that Fred Taral and Sam Doggott have both determined to retire from the saddle and that Taral has gone into partnership with Dal Hawkins as an owner of race horses with two to start in with. At Frisco there is talk of a match between Abuse and Miss Rowena at five furlongs, the Foster crack to give the filly five pounds in addition to weight for age and sex allowance. Jockey OLeary has left New Orleans for New York to re-join the Hitchcock stable. He was anything but a dazzling success as a pigskin artist at New Orleans.
