NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey Hothersall is reported to have signed a contract to ride for W. M. Rogers of Elkton, Md., this year. Rogers string of twenty or more horses, with Richard J. at the head, is to arrive at Newport shortly. The IngleBide jumps have all been lowered This will give Ferrier, Colonel Bartlett and a number of others who do not fence well a much bettor chance than they have heretofore had. The two-year-old filly Flamora, already the winner of two races, only cost E. W, Purser 1Q I at the Palo Alto sale last December.
