FOSTKR IN DIFFICULTY. San Francisco, Cal., April 1 —A. Howard, known on the racetrack as the Australian plunger Hill, had Fred Foster jailed last night for alleged embezzlement in attempting to leave the state with his stable of horses, among them Yellow Tail and Sam McKeever, which were mortgaged to Hill. The horses were stopped at Bakersfield on their journey east and will be brought back. Fester is ina bad fix. Many claims against him are coming to light. Yellow Tail hadnt been cooled out after his race Friday before he was bundled on a car in waiting, which pulled out immediately.
