Post 3 minutes. Start good. Won handily at the end after an early drive; second and third were under keen pressure. Harry Natter was the best as the race was ran bat was extremely lncky to win He was in a pocket on the far tarn bat Clay waited for the natural spread at the head of the stretch and then came through. Daily Racing Form ran a good race. He was unfortunate at the Btart and was placed badly throughout. Like Harry Natter he was lucky to get through at tin? he-id of the ptretch, Mulvihill looked good bat was perhaps short and tired at the end. McAlbert got a miserable ride. Locust Blossom had a bad attack of the slows. She could not outran a cart horse. Throw her race oat. Loyal Girl showed a lot of speed as far as she went. Harry Natter, place, 4 to 5; show, 2 to 5. Winner— Ch. f, by Cayuga— Cheese Straw. Post 4 minutes. Start fair Won easily. There was little or no action behind the winner. Cheesestraw had an easy thing of it. She got away flying and was never in trouble. Rumor has it the filly cauaot go a route, bat judgiag from this race she could havegone any 2-year-old route. Pantland ran a good race and is an improving colt. First Past ruined whatever chance of winning he had by running away a quarter at top speed in a false break. Another excuse is offered for the colts bad showing; he was kicked in the stall and had a large swelling on his left hind leg. Florence Anetia is faint-hearted. She swerved badly in the stretch under punishment. Irene Hayes acted green and will probably improve from this race. Cheesestraw. place, 2 to 5; show, oat. Pantland, place, 7 to 5; show, 7 to 10. Winner— Ch. c, by Wawekas — Miss Yates. Off at first break to a good start. Won driving and out to the last ounce; second driving bard. Hobart showed phenomenal speed and made a new track record. He is a good raceho se but is a trifle dickey in front. This was perhaps one of the reasons that he stopped so badly the last sixteenth. The early pace he set, though, was terrific and under it almost any horse would have tired. Tenby ran a cracking good race, and had it been an eighth farther he woald have won. Old Saagns race was good. He can win in lower company, Hobart, place, oat. Tenby, place, 2 to 5; show, oat. Old daagns, show, out. Q-l /» FOURTH RACE— 5-8~Mile. Winner— B. h, by Plevna— Abukra. Post 7 minutes. Start good. Won cleverly; secoad and third were hand ridden. Abase was the best and is in good form. He is a great sprinter. Bloss fooled aronnd with him at the post until he eventually got a running start. Lady Ellerslie II. ran a good race, bat she is not good enoagh to beat Abuse. Nutt saw he had no chance to heat Abase, so he did not punish the filly through the stretch. Hugh Penny can be marked for early action. He was right there at the finish and coming strong. He looks better than he ever did before. The race was always between the first three. Rival Dare and Alma Glyn both showed speed. They belong in much lower company. Scratched-8324 Green Witch, 90; 11852 Weird, 104; 6120 Murat, 107. Abase, place, out. Lady Ellerslie II , place, 1 to 2; show, out Hugh Penny, show, 4 to 5. 1k1 r7 FIFTH RACE— 1 1-8 Miles. Wiuner — Ch. h, by Pirate of Penzance— Thrifty. Off at first break to a good start. It was a terrific drive between the first two; third and fourth were driving also. Banquo II. was lncky. That accounts for his victory. He was about the only horse in the race that was not interfered with. Clara Meader should have won. She was bumped into and shot off at every turn and then taken aroand the field on the stretch tarn, With clear sailing the filly would !iav won off by herself. Blue Lick also had bad racing lack. The ride on him was a bad one. Dr Marks locked dangeroa3 oa the stretch tara, bat tired badly at the end. Crossmolina seems to be of little or no present account. Scratched— 118813 Hosi, 105. Won easily; it was a hard drive for the place. Meddler is in rare form at present. He was ander restraint all the way and played with bis field in the t-tretch. Abe Furst. considering it was his first oat, ran a cracking good race. He was lncky, though, to get the place. Braw Lad was the bettor horse. Caywood started through on the inside at the head of ihn stretch, bat was impeded by Abe Furst and was obliged to pall oat and go around. He claimed a foul, but it was not allowed. Miss Ross ran a better race than the figures show. Watch tier. Phidias showed speed. Hop Scotch shot his bolt early. He runs best in the mad. Scratched-11852 J. J.
