Be ran like a good colt today, coming away at his leisure in the stretch. Jeff, after being interfered with often, finished game and true. Watch him over a distance. Banbury, heavily played, was away poorly and was compelled to go around his field. Ravenswood ran a good rac?. He was impeded on the stretch turn, but came again at the end under punishment. Carreno, awaj flying, showed a sharp turn of speed. Pantland. place, evens; show, 1 to 5. Jeff, place, 6 to 1; show, 3 to 1. Winner — Ch g, by Kallicrates— Paradox. Off at first break to a good start. Won easing up ; second whipping; third and fourth driving. Myth was much the best and bad an easy race. He drew away from the others at the head of the stretch as thou* h they were stationary. He is a good horse now. Blue Lick ran a good race and looked dan.erous for a time on the far turn. Fred Barr was slightly interfered with after passing the half mile ground, and seemed for a minute inclined to sulk. Miss Ros shot her bolt chasing Myth the first five furlontrs. Lcbeneula was stiff and sore and propped all the way. Hosi ran a bad rac*. Judging from this performance he is of no present account. Scratched— 12084 Harry Natter, 104. Myth, place, out. He was in a soft spot and ran unex-tended all the way. Nina B. L. ran her race. So did In Debt, coesidering the bad racing luck he had. He was shut off and interfered with several times. True Fit finished strong. She stumbled in a breakaway and fell to her knees, giving Jockey Clay a nasty looking fall. The boy was not hurt, but was stunned a trifle, and Gray was substituted, Eschscholtzia stopped in a stride on the stretch turn. Scratched— 12007 Blaerina, 97. Won easily; the other two were driven out. Tenby galloped over the other two on call. He is a good horse now. An excuse for Abuse and Hobarts defeat is easily found. The first quarter in 231 seconds was too mush for both of them. At that Abuse was hardly at himself He never before has shown a disposition to stop but today he never responded an inch to Bloss call. The latter whipped him hard from the head of the stretch to the wire. Hobart about ran his race. The difference in weight made Tenby beat him. Tenby, place, 7 to 10. Hobart, place, 1 to 3. Old Saugns got up in the very last stride. He was all taogled np at the start and ran a came race. Ella Penzance weakened badly in the last fifty yards. There was a doubt as to which finished third and the judges possibly got the numbers of Alma Glyn and Al Lone mixed. The latter was number eleven and finished on the outside. Alma Glyn had number one and was over under the timers stand at the wire. The decision caused considerable noise. Al Lone took the long route and ran a good race. Mark Alma Glyn. Her race was good. Braw Lad is an in-and-outer. His race was far out of line. Scratched— 12053 Walkenshaw, 109; 119833Bright Night, 95 ; 12055 Perspective, 100. Corrected weights— Pay the Fiddler, 92.
