Winner— Ch. c, by Fonsn— Miss Nannie. Post 10 minutes. Start fair. Won hand ridden; the next three were driving and staggering Frangible was tbe best in tbe going. He was tbe gamest colt in the bunch and had something left at the finish. Those behind tbe winner were tired enough to lie down. Maharajah was bumped and interfered with at the start, and considering this he ran a good race. Zonne did well for a new beginner and clearly outstayed Jeff when the pinch came. The latter raa his race at tbe post. There were several breakaways and he ran far out each time. He eventually got a flying start, but it was of bo use to him. Frangible, place, 21 to 1 ; bdqw, evens. Maharajah, place, out. Zonne, show, 7 to 10. "I 61 rT I SECOND HAClfi— 5 1-2 Furlongs Purse 00. 5 to second; 5 to third JL flQ I — 4-year-olds and upward. Off at first break to a good start. The first three were driving to the limit. Clay outfinished the other boys. He is a most inconsistent rider. Pitfall was the best. He weakened somewhat about the eighth post, bnt was coming again at the finish and would have beaten Idle Hour in a few more strides. The latter seemed to sulk the early part of the journey. Whirmantiline was coming very strong at the finish. Tbe going was made to order for her. Chenier stopped to a walk the last furlong. He is a bad horse but will do better on a dry track. C. H. Whelan showed speed between posts the first fnriong. Idle Hour, place, 7 to 5; show, 1 to 2. Pitfall, place, 4 to 5; show, out. Whirmantiline, show, 4 to 5. 10Q70 THIRD RACE— 1 Mile and IOO Tarda. Winner— Br. g, by Bermuda— Queen Isabella. Post 3 minutes. Start perfect. Won pulling up; second, third and fourth driving to the limit. King Bermuda ran a cracking good race and was by far the beet horse. Holden picked the best going all the way and came to tbe extreme outside in the stretch where he found a path. The last furlong King Bermuda was pulled almost to a walk. He was a good horse today. Pay the Fiddler stopped badly at tbe finish. He was much used throughout and generally poorly bandied. Sunburst finished with a rush. Considering his last race, his price was out of line. Phidias ran a fair race. So did Clara Meader as far as she went. Hosi could not outrun a fat man. Neither could Necedab. Dr. Marks was beaten on the far turn and eased at the end. Scratched— 12214Dalgretti, 108. Overweights— Hosi, 3 pounds; Pay the Fiddler, 4. Winner— B. g, by Enquirer— Bonnie Meade. Post 6 minutes. Start good. Won driving and out to the last ounce ; second and third were driving just as hard and were as tired. Newsgatherer was the best and had to be to win. He was badly ridden and taken through the deepest going near the inside rail in the stretch. Sirdar finished with a tremendous rush. . Treopia was tiring badly and barely lasted long enough to be third. I. Puwell on Al Lone threw the race away. He had a commanding lead swinging Into the stretch and had he gone to the outside and secured the path, which he easily could have done, he certainly would have won. Instead, he came down the conter of the track and anchored the mare in the mud. Red Gidd was short. Vice Regal ran a bad race. Newsgatherer, place, 4 to 5 ; show, out. Winner— B. h, by Fonso— Glencliff. Post 2 minutes. Start good. Won cleverly at the end after a hard early drive. Fonclif was the beat and although handicapped by the deep going he won on his better class. Clay had to drive him hard on the turn to beat Forensic to tbe path, but after that he had things his own way. Forensic ran a good race. It was far above any of his recent performances. The colt bad Fonclif doing his best at one stage of the race. Crossmolina staggered in third. The other two were beaten away off. Do not count this race for Yours Truly. He cannot run a lick in the mud. Scratched— 12342 Monongah, 88; 122923 Uncle Abb, 111. Overweights- Forensic, 3 pounds, Fonclif, place, out. Forensic, place, 8 to 5; show, out. Winner— B. c, by Portland— Wanda. Post 7 minutes. Start good. The first two were driving to the limit; third and fourth also had a fighting finish. Mulvibill was best ridden. Narvaez hurried on the turn to get the path, and after getting it rode a strong finish. As the race was run Martha Fox was the best. She got all tangled up at the start, and through the stretch was obliged to race in the deep going. Notwithstanding these drawbacks she was pressing the winner hard at the end, Overami liked the going and finished strong. Hop Scotch had speed, but as usual tired badly. Amyntas was short. She ran about a furlong and then retired. Mulvihill, place, 4 to 5; show, out. Martha Fox, place, 8 to 5; show, 4 to 5. Overami, show, 6 to 1. HopScotch, place, 7 to 5; show, 1 to 2,
