Post 5 minutes Start good. Won driving and staggering; second, third and fourth were all under keen pressure. Heroics wae extremely lucky to win Hamilton had Talane pinned in on the rail, making it impossible for Bloss to use his whip. The latter rode a bad race on Tulane all .the way through. He was shut off numerous times down the backstretch and used poor judgment in trying to squeeze in between Heroics and the rail on the turn. It looked as though Hamilton hit Tulane over the nose with his whip through the stretch. Bloss made no claim, however, and the incident went nnnoticed. Cbarlo finished very strong. Vaseline made up much ground the last half Long Dandy ran a bad race. Brown Dick ran as if short Mark him in the same company. Corrected weights— Brown Dick, 109. First Past was the best and showed it and is more than an ordinary youngster. Mitten ran a good race. She was on the outside all the way. In the stretch, though, she bore in considerably, interfering slightly with Maharajah. Hamilton claimed foul against Mitten and it was allowed. Maharajah was under the whip toe last thre a furlongs. Hilda H. finished stoutly. This filly was interfered with and badly messed about on the far turn. Dick Furber seems to be of no present account. Santi Ague showed a lot of speed. At one time on the far turn she was lapped on First Past The winner was 111 i n 00 over his entered price by Albart Simons. The Qneen bore in and slightly interfered with Flora Louise. Nutt, who rode Hugh Penny, rode up in behind the pair in front. He, of oourse. could not get through and made a grandstand play by pulling up. This made it look as though Wueen of Bong caused more interference than she really did. Consequently the disqualification, flora Louise ran a grand race. Pope Leo was right there. Lucky Star had an easy race. Del Hart is very fast for a short distance. Sam McKeever could not raise a gallop. Throw his race t ut. The early pace was very fast. Private time for the race was 1 :14i. Overweights— Sam McKeever, 5 pounds. . She held the race safe all the way. Clay hit her a few times with tne whip about the eighth post and she got away from it like a scared hare. King e Guard ran a good race. He was well ridden. Phidias was slow to begin and made up his ground too rapidly down the backstratch. He then had nothing to finiah with. Hanlight seems to be of little or no account. Start good. Won in a long, hard drive of two ; the next three were doing their best. As tte race was run Inlook should have won. W. Bain, in an effort to ride a finish, did everything but fall off. On the other hand, Beauchamp rode a very strong finish on Ailanto. The latter tired on the stretch turn, and at that point seemed beaten. Beauchamp, though, never gave no and rode like a demon to the end, Inlook had the race won below the sixteenth post, where Bain threw it away by drawing his whip. Jeff ran a good race and Zaza a bad one. Izink was right there. Ailanto, place, 4 to 5; show, 1 to 3. Inlook, place, 4 to 1; show, 8 to 5. Jeff, show, 3 to 1.
