Defender II was lucky and ju?t got up in time. At.the eighth post it looked as though ha was goiog to win easily but he quit badly when called upon. With a more judicious ride Emma Nora would have won. Carter wobbled all over her in the stretch. She was undoubtedly the bpst. There was some bumping between the first two in the last sixteenth, but not enough to cause disqualification. Maurice W. just lasted long enough to got third place. Clifton B. was catching him and would have bsatnn him In a few more strides. The latter had a rough journey and ran a good race. F. Garner finished stoutly. Florie stopped to a walk after going three-quarters. Title had no speed at all. The field was badly strung out on the back stretch. It was a bad lot. Winner Br. f, by Huron Dollikens. Post 12 minutes. Start good. Won handily; second driving; third and fourth doing their best. Huronia is at her best right now. She haB improved wonderfully in her last two races. Rutter rode a good race on the filly. He was on the inside the entire journey and saved all he ground possible. Had he chose he could have won off by himself. Zaza is faint-hearted. She ot a flying start and had no excuses Inlook raced her into submission the first half and incidentally rained his own chances. Annis Palmer was shut off and interfered with several different times. This is a good game filly and under a hard drive finished resolutely. The ride oa Mont Eagle was an easy one. Throw his race out. Hamilton saw he could not win and urged the gelding bat little. Mattie Bazar finished like a wild horse. Judging from this race Ed Wagner is of no account. Eschscholtzia showed a sharp tarn of speed and then stopped to a walk. Scratched 12904 PresEbme, 105; 11961 Fiy Lotta, 102; 12425 Porphyogene, 102. Overweigbts Zaza. 2 pounds. Winner B. h, by Sir.Dixon Katy Did. Off at first break to a good start. Won clevorly; second and third driving hard. Maceo went to the front on call in tne stretch. He is good ana ran one of his bast races. Knight rode the horse cleverly. He waited patiently for the first half and thus avoided the early pace, which was quite fast. The boy never made a move until straightened away for home. Lady Ellerslie about ran her race. She finished stoutly on the inside. Murat has a lot of speod bat cannot hold on. About 1:14 is his notch. Aade3 went to pieces when tho pinch came. Sonprep is a crazy individual and is hard to get to go the-right way of the track. Scratched 130112Picolla, 92. Knight was hard at work on her all the last three furlongs. She simply outgamod Florizar for the place. The latter ran a much improved race. Pantiand had no excuses. Knight rode a clever race on her. He had her near the rail the entire journey and when the natural spread came at the head of the siratch the filly got through and stood a hard drive gamely. Pay the Fiddler ran a good race but could not quite get up. As tho race waB run Aureole was probably the best. She was sharply interfered with on the far turn and could not get through in time. Vie Lamont bad a world of speed. Three-quarters is her distance. Ernest Wiles bad bad racing luck but finished p amply. Free Hand did not run up to expectations.
