GOSSIP OF THE TURF. A.J. Joyner, the trainer of Perry Belmonts Ethelbert, said after the Admiration-May Hempstead race he would like to match Ethelbert against Admiration at a mile or over, giving hsr the customary five pounds-sex allowance. The match is likely to be made. Saturdays race was a great race. A nasty wind hampered the fillie3 as they came down the long stretch at Morris Park. The pace was fearful. The three-quarters in 1:12 was only a trifle off the track record. The furlong was run in 11, quarter mile in 2Q, three furlongs in 35. half in 47 and five furlongs in 59. Thus by furlongs the time was 11, 11, 11,12,126, 1S. The last quarter was run in 21. The only test to be now applied to Admiration is that of weight carrying. She should survive it. The filly is royally bred. Both her sire, Kingston, and hor dam, Hypocrite, were turf stars,
