Maurice W. finished stoutly and would have won in a few more strides. He had bad luck early, and taking this into consideration he ran the best race. Ramlet faltered at the sixteenth post, but under severe punishment came on again. Deceive, off in the rear division, weaved his way through the bunch and finished very Btrongly. Barton seemed the probable winner when swinging into the stretch but when the final question was asked him he weakened. Indra is a bad horse. He got away flying and had no excuses.
