HAWTHORNE RACING. Miss Ethel McGuigan seems to have every, thing all her own way in the two-year-old filly races at the local tracks with Unsightly. The filly is away off the best of bor sex around here and yesterday at Hawthorne won her fifth consecutive race. Unsightly was in at three-quarters along with ah ordinary lot, Btill the ring offered even monoy against her. There was nothing to tho race. Unsightly broke fifth but got to the front before the half mile post was reached and nothing else ever got near her after that. She won easiifg up by five lengths. Carnero seems to be himself again and won the fifth mile event handily. Indra started in the same raco,- but after running well for about five-eighths of a mile he fell back and finished last. Title won tho mile and a sixteenth selling race in a hard drive by a narrow margin from Maurice W. and Ramlet. Beauchamp rode this winner and put up a very strong finish. The third race, also at a mile and a sixteenth, went to Gun Metal. This fellow was placed skilfully by Nutt and came with a rush in tho stretch. There was a lot of speed in the fourth race, a six farlongs dash, and Helens Pet proved to have the most. She got to the front as soon as possible and led all the way. The closing event went to Bon Jour, who was lucky in getting through on the rail in the stretch. Egbart, the favorite, ran one of his bad races and finished far back. Jockey Rutter has gone to Saratoga. Tho card offered for today, which is Hawthornes last chance for two weeks, is a grand one, and as the track and weather ere perfect, a record-breaking crowd should be on hand. Besides the T. D. Carter horses to be sold at Hawthorne this afternoon W. P. Magrane will auction off Free Lady, Brambella and the 2-year-old filly Solace.
