NOTES OF THE TUBS Alice Tarner, who has won a lot of races for Keith and Patton at the Fair Grounds the present soasoD, is expected by her owners to develop into another Ethel Gray. Alice Turner is a bay filly by Eegalis Lady Glydo. She was bred at the Patton stud near Stnrgeon, Mo. The late J. D Patton, Alice Turners breeder, died in California last year. Mr. Patton bred and campaighed Ethel Gray, who will bs remembered as one of the best race mares in the history of the American turf. Alice Turner resembles Ethel Gray in many respects, being the same type of a filly that tbo old mare was in her two-year-old form. The lat3 J. D. Pattons widow is a member of the firm of Keith and Patton, owners of Alice Tarner, Maud Wallace ana other horses now being campaigned at the Fair Grounds. St. Louis Bepublic. One of the Btables at Horse Haven, Saratoga, took fire Friday morning and L. V. Bells two-year-old Scout, by Uncas Castalia, was burned to death.
