Winner Ch. c, by Sir Dixon Vassar. Off at the first break to a good start. Won in a hard drive of t wo ; third eased up. Deering ran one of his ba3t races today. He displayed great gamenpss through the stretch. Rafaello got to him at the eighth po3t and brougbt him to a drive. From that point the pair had it hammer and tongs to the wire. Jenkins rode Rafaello with poor judgment. He made his movo too soon and made up his ground too rapidly. He also became a trifle careless in the stretch. Rafaello will turn the tables on Deering tne next time they meet on similar terms. Crocket stopped at the eigtatn po3t and was eased np. Scratched 13813 Tenby, 104; 135S4Graziella, 107. In the deep going weig it cut a great figure and in this respect Maceo had a lot the best of it. Knight rode nim to perfection. Ho waitod on the others to the three-eighths post and then made bis move and at the head of the stretch he h6d the race in band. Fervor ran a good race. Maggie Davis was rank and almost pulled Jed Waldo out of the saddle down the buckstretch. Won under the whip, but with something left; Becond driving bard. Teutons was skilfully rated in front and stole a long lead on W. Jones, who rode Prince Blandzes. In fact bo stole the race from the Prince. Jones seemiugly thought he was riding in a ten-mile race and laid an unreasonable distance out of it. When he made up his mind to make his move the race was over. It was a miserable piece of riding judgment. Einstein was prominent for about three-quarters and then retired. Mary Prather was simply a filler-in. Scratched 13676Egbart. 108; 13570 Croesus, 105; 13772 Hanlight,92; 13772 Barton, 105. Overweights Teutons, 4 pounds. Teutons, place, 1 to 2; show, out. Won easing up; second and third well in hand. Molo was on a track that suited him to perfection and he made a show of his field. Ho went to the front passing the half-mile post end fiom there homo simply loafed. Blue Lick made a strong bid in the stretch, but could not get within reach of Molo. George H. Ketcham ran a fair lace and Newsgatherer a disgraceful one. The latter stopped -as if short after going a half mile. Hauan was interfered with and cut off a dozen times.
