NUTT RULED OFF. Messrs. Rees and Kabl, jndgea at Hawthorne, have decided that jockey Nutt has been guilty of fraudulent riding and the result is that the misguided boy baB been deprived of a profession in which he was earning enough money to have made him a rich man bad he been content to tread in the path of strict honesty. It is to be regretted that the miscreants who tempted him to his downfall cannot also be similarly punished. The official report to the Chicago Jockey Club is as follows: We suspended jockey W. Nutt Septembers, pending investigation of his riding at tho present meeting, especially on the horses King Bermuda and Uncas on the 8th and 9th inst., respectively. September 8 he had the mount on the horso King Bermuda in the sixth race, distance, 1 mile, weight, 104 pounds. Off well in a field of seven, he took the horde back in the first quarter and kept him oat of the race almost the entiio route, finishing fourth, beaten off about twonty lengths. The distance, condition of track, etc., were in every way to the liking of this horse. September 9, same distance, weight and conditions about the same, with jockey Vititoe up, at the start he was off almost last in a much faster race than the day previous, he however, gradually moved to tho front, assumed the lead after passing the half mile pole and won handily. Ssptember 9 he had the mount on the horse Uncas in the first race, distance three-quarters of a mile, a natural contender to win. Off faiily well and second I in the stretch when inside of the sixteenth pole he never made a move to help his hois9, sitiinc perfectly still with a tight hold on the bridle, simply allowed the field to close in on him finishing fourth close up. We are satisfied as to the racing condition of the hordes respectivoy on the date3 in question, and their subsequent races would seem to satisfy the moat skeptical as to the cause of their bad races. Nuns riding at other times daring this meeting has not been above suspicion. We have given him eveiy consideration and having thoroughly investigated the recss in question are satisfied ho rode pu posely to lose and that ho merits the most extreme punishment under tho rules. In accordance with same he stands ruled off the turf BIG1ED. J AMES U. RKES ? t j HakeiKudl. J Judges.
