GOSSIP OF THE XBBF. Secretary Price has ar noncced the star events of the Lonis villa Jocjcc y Club for the year 1901. The Kentucky De. by, Oaks and Clark Stakes. Entries will close October 16. The main conditions are aa follows : The Kentucky Derby For three-year-olds foals of 1898. The valne of the stake toibe . 000, of which G0 to second and 00 to third; colts to carry 122 lbs., geldings, 119 lbs., fillies, 117 lbs. Those not having won a three-year-old race of the value i f ,500 allowed 5 lbs., maidens, 12 lbs.; ono mile and a quarter. The Clark Btakes For three-year-olds foals of 1898 The value of the stake to be ,000, of which 50 to second and 50 to third; colts to carry 122 lbs., geldings 119 lbs., fillies, 117 lbs., the witmer of the Kentucky Derby to carry 5 lbs. extra. Those not having won a three-year-old race of the value of ,500 allowed 5 lbs., maidens 12 lbs.; one mile and one eighth. The Kentncky Oaks For three-year-old fillies foals of 1898. Tho value of the stake to be ,C00, of which 00 to second and 50 to thiid. Those not havirg won a three-year-oid race of the value ot ,000 allowed 5 lbs., maidens 12 lbs.; one mile and one sixteenth. Lastitia, dam of Chacoinac, is now the property of Mr. Marcus Da y, having beoa sold to him by Mr, W. P. Powers. She ba3 a fine colt by Meddler at Hamilton, Mont., where she is now located at Mr Dalys ranch, and is said to be in foal to Bathampton. Stable room at Latonia is fast being taken up for the fall meeting. A number of bg racing strings are now at the track and many others are arriving daily. There will be a lot of high-class hones at the fall meeting at the Kenton County track.
