MUD ARKS DAY AT HAKLJSM. There was mud of the worst degree at Harlem yesterday, and consequently the talent suffered, Still they did not faro so badly, as most of the winners had a perfect right on form to score, nd, barring Kings Highways victory, which wan certainly out of line, no other fault could bo found with the raciug. Scandal-mongers must exiBt and after Hosi had won the mile and a half race, they were very much in evidence. For some unknown roaeon Jack Bradl6y was made a stout favorite for this race. He never was of much account as a racehorse, and when 4 to 5 was offered -against him the public, which seems to be up to date, naturally dodged him. There was nothing else to back then but Hosi, and the way tko wise ones" sent the coin in on him was a caution. He was at his best and there was never a spot in the road where he did not hold the others safe. Long Dandy troubled him some during the early stage3 of the journey but when the pinch camo he died away. Hcsi wen and won as he pleased and Pete Kitchen, stiff and Eore, beat Long Dandy for second place. -Jack Bradley was never in the hunt and finished last, boaten off. That Kings Highway should come to the front in his race was a surprise to close observers. He did, however, and won like a gentleman from Molo and Tappan in the last race of the day. His last raco was a very ordinary one and on it he did cot have a chance to win. Still he was backed and won. It was a veiy interesting raco to look at, espesidlly through the Btretch. Molo seamed to bold the other two, Tanpan and Kings Highway, safe, bnt he evidently was short and in the last twenty yards quit. Then it was a question as to which would get the money. Mitchell was on Kings Highway, and he easily outrode M. "Weber and got the verdict. John Bakers win at three-quarters of a mile over Verify, May Beach and other good ones was a clover performance. May Bsach was giving away a lot of weight to everything and although Burns rode her the handicap in other ways was against her and she drifted from 2 to 1 to 3 to 1. Bhe got a running start, but was never dangerous and finished absolutely last. John Bakei won and won in a high class way. Rose rated him in babind the leaders to the head of the stretch and then he sent him along. He got to Verify below the sixteenth post, and after that there was nothing to it. This John Baker is a fast little horse, and it is to Mr. McMillans credit that he always runs consistently. It seems a shame to ask a two-year-old filly to run a milo or over in deep mud. Bat the firm of Brannon and Moore asked this of their filly Ida Lodford. She is a filly with some pretensions to good class and being lightly weighted, was warmly supported. She was always near the front and won like a stake filly should win in common company. Floricel II. was the lucky one of the twenty that startod in the first race. After getting off in front she held her own all tho way and won off by herself. The judges scratched Barrier and Nokomo in the tocond raco according to Turf Gongross rules. It teems that b th horses were raced at tracks within fifty miles of Chicago for purses below tho standard reqairod by American Racing Rules.
