The first three were driving to the lmit. It was a tight fit. Tom Gilmore came like a flssh in the last seventy yards and would have won in a few more strides. As the race was run he was far the best. Wilson got him cut off at every turn and had the worst lnck possible. Zazas win was an extremely lucky one. She had the most sposd, clear sailirg, and barely lasted long enouab. Man of Honor suffered from poor handling. Trotter let him swerve badly in tue Bt retch. He, too, should have beaten Zza. When Man of Honor swerved he collided with Tom Gilmore. Wilson lodged a claim of foul, but it was not allowed. Mavdine ran a fair race and Yoloco a bad one. The latter seems to be of little present account. Conlsy dropped in behind tfcc others the first part part of it thus avoiding the early pace and slso all interference, then brought the filly up with a rush on the outside. For an instant, Ebout the eixteeath post, Aigareta was under pressure, but at the finish she was giicg away. May Beach had a rough journey. She was bumped and badly interfered with seveial times on the far turn. This considered, her race was a nooA one. Liva-dia, it is rumored, outworked Nickey D. On the Btrongth of this she was heavily played and ran a cracking good race. Frank Bell was the cause of a lot of interference on the far turn. He was on the outside and Mitchell pulled in on the other b:ys, causing a general mix-up. Hermoso looked dangerous at the head of the stretch but died away at the finish. Watch Hileo. He finished strong. Georgie ran a bad race, still the 6ariy interference may have been the cause of this. Scratched 150282Cacace. 102; 14813 Verify, 112; 15028 Sim W., 107; 15028 H. S. Tobacco, 110. Winner Ch. f, by The Hero Nora M. Off at the first break to a good start. Won hand ridden, but out to the last ounce ; second and third driven hard. Nora C. got a good ride and ran a fair sort of a race. She clearly out-gamed Little Alarm through the stretch. The latter is speedy, but poesesses little or no stamina. Woodranger was right there at the finish and was coming fast. This wbb a much better race than he ran his last out. Nannie Davis made up a lot of ground. DeBlaiso was sharply cut off passing the half and Dngan had to pull him almost to a standstill. Prince Harry is a bad horse. He had nn excuses bat simply qnit badly after running about half a mile. Off at first break to a good start. Won with something left after an early drive; second hand ridden; third and fourth hard at it. Croesus was b33t ridden and ran an excellent race. Ho is a pretty shifty horse over a distance of ground. McQaade placed him with judgment the first mile and made his move at the right time. Goose Liver had more spaed than usual and ran a surprisirgly good race. Holdup was contending all the way, and hung on gamely, too, at the end. Bert Davis ran a much bitter race than he did his last out, wh n Burns rede him. Harry Nutter had little or no speed. Ho was pocketed several times. On account of his bad race jockey Dngan and trainer Blum have bjeu suspended. Double Dummy looked to have a chance on the far turn, but hucg at the end. Jim MoCleovy was nicely handled and in the final furlong went to the front like a good racehorse. His race was strictly to form. Eight Bells got a flying start, showed a One turn of speed but could not last the routo. In the last sixteenth she stopped badly. Pat Garrett came from away back in the stretch. He would have baen second in a few mere strides. Rotterdam did not run his race. Eitholin was killed off chasing Eight Bells the firBt five fnrlongs. Lsnnep ran a dull race. She was a false favorite.
