Tobacco outbroke the others and won all tho way, He swerved considerably at the bead of the stretch and for an instant seemed to be beaten, bul came on again cloverly when Conley straightened him out. David ran another good race. H. S. Tobacco interfered with him when he swerved, but not enough to call for judicial action, Viti toe gave Plantain an easy ride. Newsgatherer ahowe i no speed and was never in the huit. The same crmment applies to King Bermuda, who ran a bad race. Scratched 15326 Inverary II., 105: 15235 Dnt. Winner Ch. c, by Sir Dixon Vaeear. Post 7 minutes. Start good. The first two mere driving to the limit; third and fourth were driving as hard. Deering was, the best, but had to be f ally extended to win. Freeman rode a gocd race on him and clearly outfinished Vititoe. At oue time in the stretch Tobe Paine had Deering beaten, but Vititoe did not hav strength enoach to help him to any great extent when the tight pinch came in the last hundred yards. Princass Murphy had b.id luck throughout, but finished with a tremendous rush. Pat Garrett huDg a bit at the end. Uhler showed speed, bat could not carry it far. Winner Br. g, by Powhaltuu Fiu.c Off at the first break to a good start. Wn i m a terrific drive of two; third eased at the and. Tappan ran another of his honest rac3. lie. appeared to be outclassed by the other three but won through sheer gameness. After turaia nto the stretch Tappan swerved badly, but when Mitchell straightened him and beg 11 his drive the gelding gained insh by inch on Great Bsnd and got up in the last few strides. It was a spectacular ficish. Gront Bend had no excuses other than that Tapnan possessed more staying power than he did. Mason waited on Bannevtlle cleverly in the first part of the race and made his move at tho right time. Benneville hardly ran up to bis true form. John Biker was not nearly ready and showed it. Winner Ch. g, bv Hanover Floronce M. Post 6 minutej. Start good. Won driving; second, third and fourth were also under keen pressure. Holdup won a lucky r?ce It was a great improvement over hia last previous performance. Beaton got him away flying, avoided all interference and made every post a winning one. Ramlet ran above hi notch. He came from behind with a rush in the Btretch and stood the closing drive gamely. Elidad phowad more than hia usual speed and seems to be in his bsst form. Admntus was much tbe bsst and only a bad ride beat him. Mitchell took the longest ronte and whan he had a winning chance in tha stretch rode a weak finish. Rollias fouled every horse near him at the start. He broke on the outside and cut directly across the track. Mr. Johnson also got a bid ride. Jim McCleevy was skilfully handled and ran one of bis be it races. Ha had to do so to boat Man of Honor. The latter is a good youngster. In wiser hands he would bi able to beat the best at the track. Canace warmed up stiff and aora and came out of the race quite lame. Catastrophe showed speed but it was iojadiciously need, and when tho pinch came he had nothing left to finish with. The Monk retired early. Jackanapes ran a dull race. Jim McCleevy, place, 4tol; show, 8 to 5. Man of Honor, place, 2i to 1; show, evens. Canace, place. 2 to 5; show, out.
