Post 5 minutes. Start good. Won easily; second hand ridden. Third, fourth and nfth driving to the limit. Nora C. ran the best race She was eIow in getting away but worked her way to the front gradually and when tbe stretch was reached bad the race in hand. Vie La. mont had no excuse. Freeman got ber away flyicg and the filly ran her beBt race. Terrene had - md racing Jnck throughout. This considered she did well. Hosolia made up ground all the J way and finished stoutly. Flirtation quit bedly in the stretch. Josephine B. seems to be of no Ind present account. She got into a bad mix-up on the far turn but she never showed speed and the race stamps her as not in good form. 15 Scratched 15325 Alice B , 106. 1 Ovsrweights Lady Osborne, 4 pounds. 11 Nora C, piece, 8 to 1; show, 3 to 2. Wi ner B. c. by Take Notice Lske County. . Off at the first break to a good start Won eesily ; the other two placed hoi bps were driving 2 to the limit. Yolcco wes well ridden and won like much the best youngster. Vititoe rated him with judgment through tbo first part of the route end passed Man of Honor in the stretch as 1 thoueh he was tied. Under lieht weight and over a distance of ground Yolcco 1? a useful racing j tool Mont Eigle finished strongly and got second place in the last stride.. Weight and even-thina considered, Man 1 f Honor ran a good race. He looked all e ver the winner at the head of the stretcb, but under hi heavy impost hung at tho end. Well bandied this colt would probably I Drove a stake winner. Under a poor ride Indian did well. Aloha II. showed a lot of speed, bnt li the route was too far for him. Mitchell had Tommy OBrien in the ceepest going all the way. 1; This accounts for bis porr showing. J; Overweights Orlandine, 41 pounds. , . Yolcco, place, evens: show, 1 to 2. Post 12 minutes. Start good. It was a spectacular finish between the first three. U Oonnell . wen principally btcsute Conley tricked the other boys. At the head of the stretch he was en tbe inside of Algareta and May Beach. All three were close together and under pressure. Con-ley realizing that his horse was stopping under bim Teeorted to questionable tactics. He took OConnell to tbe extreme outside, carrying Algareta nd May Beach with him. This naturally knocked them off their Btride and gave OConnell a "shade" which proved enough for him to win. Algareta waB possibly tbe best today. She was between the other two and was j badly bnmped through the entire length of the stretch. May Beach was well ridden and hung on more gamely than usual. Previons to tbe race a trunendons fog came up making it lmpossi- ble for spectators to see ecross the track. Winner Ch. c, by Harry OFallon Vena N. . Post 4 minctts. Start jood. Won cleverly at tbe end after r.n early drive; second and third were hard at it. Harry Nutter wbb well ridden and improved with a start. In the face of most of bis jecent races this was a raw form reversal. The horse is a bad one and is litble to get any r one in trouble by his inconsistent running. Ed Tiptrn was all U ngled up at the Btart and had 1 10 be much uea eaiJy to get into a good position Everything considered his race waB below r Better ridden Mcnongah would have been secoi d and perhaps would have won. Patterson - nar rode badly on bim and in fact did everytbirg inefficient bnt fall off. Sam Lazarus E:q. . showed considereble speed but could not carry it far. Teutons, too, showed speed. He was not t well ridden Mitchell hurried him too much in the first part of the race and this made him Btop ? at the end. Espionage seemed stiff and sore and was beaten off all the w ay.
