STARTJ6R DWTRRSLGOOD "WORK. Starter Dick Dwyer was never in better form i than he is now and his excellent work with the i flsg was one of the features at Lakeside yesterday. . The flelde, as is always the cbeo near the i wind-up, are unusually Jaree, but the popular Richard seems to have perfect control over the i boys and the result is prompt as well as excellent breaks. Harry Nutter was given another chance to i start by the judges in the sixth race, which was I at nice furlorjge, and, with Mitchell up, the i inconsistent son of Harry OFbllon Vena N. won rather caBily. From all indications this will make it hard for Hugh McCarren and his jockey, McQnade, who got under the ban on account of the coifs bad race last Tuesday. The mcch tcuted colt The Ucknrwn broke out of the maiden class in tbo initial three-quartprs dash with ease. He got away third, went to the front in the first hundred yards and nothing evflr got neei him after that. Jockey Freeman seems to be one of the popular riders at the track now, and aftor he won on Deering, principally through a well judged ride, he wa given a round nf anplarse. In the fifth race Master Kitley, who for some unknown reason has not ridden much this ebh-sop. cleverly outflnished Vititoe and won with Refugee by a nose from Bert Davis. Georgia beat the aggregation of fast ones in the fonrth raco from start to finish, and with ench ease es attests her present perfrct cenci-tion. Andes and BeDneville had an interesting struggle for place honors, the latiers heavy impost telling at the finish in favor of the younger horse.
