NOTRS OF THE TURF. The California bred fillies taken to England laet year by Mr. Haggin and sold there at big prices have not so far rendered a very satisfactory account of themselves. Only one of them has scored a winning bracket and that one was by Golden Dawn Agaes, in a race of not much account at the tail end of the season. Joseph Cairn Simpson has been eleoted chairman of the Board of Stewards of the Western Turf Association. There will be a meeting every Friday afternoon at Tanforan Park.
