THE PEPPER YEARMNG?. Dm ing the past two racing seasons "Gene" Leigh has handled the two-year-olds belonging to Mrs. E. O. Pepper with conspicuous buccbsb and ability but according to the Thoroughbred Record W. M. Rogers is to train for her next. The current issue of that newspaper says: "A fine bunch of yearlings will leave Meadow-thorpe next week. They will be consigned to W. M. Rogers, Elkton, Md.. who has arranged with Mrs. E. O. Pepper to race them on the Jockey Club tracks. Mr. Rogers haB been racing through the West until laBt year, when be went East with the pair of good horses Richard J. and Rafaello. With this bunch of highly-tried and good-looking Eantakas be will have a grand opportunity to Bhow the Eastern turf world that ability which made him a prominent figure on the Western race courses. "As to the yearlings, they are as nicely balanced a lot as ever left Meadowthorpe, being the cream of thiB years crop.
