It was a two-horse contest throughout between Oread and Oliver Mc and Oread outgamed the latter at the finish. Oread will be hard to beat from now on in her class. Olea swerved from the middle ■of the track to the inside rail when it came to a drive. Prestidigitator could not live the pace and dropped out of it in the Snal furlong. Won easily ; second and third driving, Far Rockaway always held his field safe. He was drawing away at the end and won as he pleased and is a fast one. Mauga finished strongly and would have been second in two more strides. Billionaire and Bounteous had a great contest for place. The Parader and Seip ran well. The Rhymer is a bad actor at the post. Herbert was cut off at the turn out of the backstretch and Mitchell had to pull up. He came again fast at the end. Watch him. Goldone and Mark Cheek , faded away in the run home. Approval made his debut for the year in good form and under strong riding won like a good horse, although tiring at the end. Wait Not had to go all around his field and was gradually wearing the leader down at the end. Survivor had a rough journey. He was under restraint on the back-stretch and when OConnor made his move at the far turn be was cut off and had to snatch up his mount, Decanter led under a choking pull for the first half and under this treatment tired badly in the stretch run. Kinnikinnick went all around his field and finished strongly. Lindemere, after falling away, came again at the end and ran a good race. The Kentuckian and Danforth were used up in setting the pace. Both tired in the run home. The latter was pulled up when beaten. Gonfalon was probably a bit short.
