Winner- B. •, by Wadsworth — Miss Rica. Wont to post at 2:20. Off at the first break to a poor start. Won driving to the limit; second, third and fourth also under keen pressure. Lake Mills is a good game colt that improves with racing. Considering this is his second start aud the bad luck he had in the race his showing was a good one. Rose rode a miserable race on Old Mike. He wore him out going down the backstretch aud on the stretch turn deliberately took him in the deepest going. Maryland Reserve, off badly, made up ground throughout, aud with an equal break he would have been a keen contender. Laura K. liked the going and showed a lot of speed, but retired early. Scratched-18202 Corrillo, 110; 14406 Plohn, 107. Overweights— Ponchatula, 2 pounds. Lake Mills, place, evens; show, 2 to 5. Old Mike, place, 1 to 2; show, out. Winner--B. h. b Hanover Pomona. Went to post at 2:55. Off at the first break to a good start. Won easily; second and third were doing their lies*. Handpress was best and best ridden. Bums picked the best going, saved his horse cleverly until in the stretch, aud then made his move. Braw Lad did his best, but cannot beat a horse like Handpress. Emigre was in the worst going all the way and ran gamely throughout. The race was always between the first three. Scratched— 18352 Josephine B., 102. Corrected weigh.:- — Hop Scotch, 103. Winner B. c, by Isaac Murphy — Lagunitas. Went to post at 3:25. -Off at the first break to a good Start. Won easily; second cleverly ; third driving. Barney F. found the going to his liking and won all the way. Miller hustled him along a trifle about the eighth post, but in the last fifty yards was easing the colt up. Louisville, well ridden, ran her race. Bergens exhibition on Thomas Carey was a poor one. He was more of a handicap than a help to the gelding. Elsie Venuor skinned the rail on the first turn and saved many lengths, but after running well for about a half tired badly. Scratched -182922Golden Rattle, 107. Winner— Ch. c, by Fa verdale— Golden Rod II. Went to post at 3:55. At post 12 minutes. Start fair. Won cleverly; second driving and staggering; third all out. Silverdale is a crackerjack in the mud, and under a perfect ride made his field look cheap, lnvictus is speedy, likes heavy going, and ran the best race of his career. The colt hung close to Silverdale to the eighth post, where he swerved badly when Kiley hit him with the whip. Miss Bennett was giving away weight to everything in the race, and the delay at the post did her no good, as she is a fretful filly. She, at no part of the race, had a chance to beat Silverdale, and is hardly his equal in the mud. In Shot s saddle girth broke while at the post and this was the cause of the twelve minutes delay. Scratched-18254Queen Dixon, 110; 18267 Sortie, 103. Silverdale, place, 1 to 4 ; show, out. lnvictus, place, 6 to 1 ; show, 6 to 5. Off at the first break to a good start. Won in a long hard drive of two; third and fourth were doing their best. Prince Blazes was carefully ridden, liked the route and track, and ran a good, game race. Caywood clearly outfinished Miller at the end. Trimmer is a gooi. honest horse, and better ridden he would have beaten the Prince. The route was too far for Guess Me, still she made a creditable showing. The sharp contention was between the first three all the way. Overweights— Hub Prather, 14 pounds; Prince Blazes. 1. Prince Blazes, place. 3 to 10; show, out. Trimmer, place, 7 to 10; show, 3 to 10. Winner Br. h, by Hanover— Lady Abbess. Went to post at 5 :05. At post 3 minutes. Start good. Won handily at the end after an early drive. The Elector liked the track, was well handled and came away finely on call in the stretch. Reminder was probably short. He showed plenty of speed, but when the pinch came he quit badly. The colt needed this race and will be hard to beat from now on. Mellocole improves with every start aud in this instance he ran a good race, finishing stoutly under pressure. Mark him for early action in a maiden race. Miss Liza showed a Hash of speed, but it was not lasting. Scratched 18352Forbush, 111; 18292! Brownie Anderson, 96. Overweights— Ray H., 2 pounds.
