Darin tried numerous limes to get through on the insi le. but at eacli attempt was sharply shut ott. rromtbe bead of the stretch home Alcedo was under the whip and barely managed to get up in time to win. Garry Hermann is a grand colt and ran a grand race. He , was poorl] managed and woo on hi own courage. Roland went away from the post whipping the colt and never did take a good tight bold of his head. He is a loafer and must have strong .. handling and in this instance Roland did not fill the bill. Burns ride on Alard Scheck was a brilliant one. He got the colt away flying, took the shorted route and at the end put up a masterly finish. II Burns had been on Garry Hermann that colt would have won off by bimselt. Paletou is better than an ordinary colt and ran a good, game race. Schoolmaster bad a rough journey, and. this considered, made a good showing. Henry Burt was prominent for about three furlongs and tben tired as though short. Mark this youngster for early action. Ka tbe race was run Miss Bennett was the best, and after being roughly treated on the far turn she came away at the end like a good filly.
