He went right to the front and was under restraint the whole way, and was eased up in the last sixteenth. Godfrey ran a good race and finished strongly, hut swerved near the finish. Terrorist should have been third by a length, but was poorly managed. Excelsis was closing when he fast lost ground by swinging wide. The others did not cut an/ figure in the race. King Bramble appeared to be best and was well ridden. Mitchell rated him all along until well into the stretch and then made his run. He was being hustled a trifle at the end. but had something left. Lord Baltimore was outrun in the first part of the race, but closed with a rush, causing interference as he did so and was set back. Kunia ran better than was expected and finished strongly. She was pinched off when going up the backstretch. Wait Not did not seem to be quite ready, but was close up all the wa». Peaceful ran with his mouth open to the stretch and then quit badly. Alsike was poorly handled by Burns, who ran right into a pocket and was then shut out and this put him out of the race. Scratched— 2C097Trillo, 117; 19785 Montanic, 102: 200592Radford. 100. Far Rockaway was doing his best all the way and only got up in the last two strides. Lady Schorr showed the most speed of the field all the way, but she tired very badly in the last few strides. Longshoreman ran a much improved race, was with Lady Schorr all the way, and fought it out to the last stride. Irritable looked big and did not run his true race. High Jinks wa easily the best, was away in front and waB never fully extended at any stage and was drawing away in the last furlong. Villa V. ran well but tired toward the end. Hoods Brigade ran a much improved race. He had poor racing luck in the early part of the race but finished strongly and ought to have been second with good luck. Exit ran well to the stretch and then quit. Billy Oweus trailed to the stretch and then finished fasi. The other two are not much. He took the short 3St route all ths way and by doing so saved at least five lengths. On the otli3r hand Che Kentuckian was poorly ridden. OConnor had him all over the track and he must have gone at least ten lengths further than Gonfalon. OConnors finish was also weak. Advance Gaard wis outru i in the first part of the race but closed strongly and appeared like the winaer in the last sixteenth but uuag at the end. Bannockburns race was very poor. Mitchell wis nard at work oa him aftsr pissing thi half mile post but he could not respond. Scratched— 199 5Charentus. 113; 2VH-Intrusive, 108. .. . Gonfalon, place, 2 to t.
