Winner- Ch. c. by Wagner — Peril. Went to post at 2:15. Off at the first break to a good start. Won driving to the limit. The i next three were also hard at it. Dangerline liked the going and was well ridden, but had to be i hard pr.-seed to win. For an instant at the head of the stretch Hurry seemed to be winning, but ; she is a little, light filly and weakened when the pinch came. Matin about ran his race. Satin I Coat showed more speed than he did in his last rare. William Ack failed badly after going a i half mile. Harry Pulliam was always outrun. Winner— Ch. h. by Hindoo— Jaconet. Went to post at 2:55. Off at the first break to a good start Won in a long hard drive of twn; third handily. Hindoonet got away well in his stride, seemed to ike the going, showed the most speed, and hung on like a leech at the end. Winkfield rode a fine race throughout and an extraordinarily powerful finish. Emigre was outrun in the first pait of the race but came with a tremendous rush througli the stretch and had a stronger rider been on him he surely would have won. Tally did his best but lacked the strength to be of much telp. Goal Runner seemed to bave a good chance to win on the upper turn and ran a smashing good race. Mark him for early action. Tame Irishman had no excuses. Neither had Hilee who failed dismally in the stretch. This horse is a poor weight carrier and is best on a fast track. Winner— Ch. g. by Rancocas— Heeley. Went to post at 3:25. At post 9 minutes. Start fair; the first three were closely bunched and driving to the limit. Sad Sam raised all sorts of trouble at the post by kicking everything that came within his reach, but he eventually got away flying and ran a high class race, but barely lasted long enough to win. The colt ran out with W. Jones up the last time he started, when he was at a short odds, but Kiley had no trouble in keeping him in in this race, Silurian had bad racing luck, and perhaps should have won. Dandy Jim, on the inside, came with a terrific rush and is a hard one to beat in the mud. Battus showed speed, but was handicapped by the going and tired at the end. The first three beat the others away off. Scratched— 191683Harry Herendeen. 108; 20259 Pirate to Penzance. 106; 19996 Money Muss. 105: 20200 Bengal, 105. Winner Br. c. b/ Fordham— Old Miss, Went to post at 4:10. At post 6 minutes. Start had. Won handily at the end after an early drive: second and third were doing their best. Tuthill was by far the heat. He was given the i worst of a bad start but worked his way to the front gradually and at the end was going away. , He is a fairly good horse and can run well in any kind of going. Prairie Dog ran a smashing : good race. W. Waldo was not strong enough to be of any use to him and the gelding was swerving all over the track at the end. Scarlet Lily got a flying start and had no excuses. She does s not amount to much otherwise she could have won from where she got away. Sir Kingston was prominent for about a half mile. Winner- B. c, by Hanover— Oi lie. Went to post at 4 :45. Off at the first break to a good start. Won driving to the limit and 1 out to the last ounce ; second the -aim-. It was a close finish and also an exciting one to look at. Hansford displayed great ganiness and Master Waldo kept his wits about him and held the a colts head up like a veteran. Papa Harry perhaps should have won. He had a rough journey V and had to be much used in getting up. On him Kiley rode a powerful finish. Pirate J. seemed to be running easily on the turn, but when Buchanan let him down he tired and quit badly. • Oweusboro was handicapped by a poor ride, but finished with a terrific rush. Woodtrice showed some speed, but could not carry it far. Maryland Reserve appeared dangerous on the far turn, . but, like Pirate J., he quit when the pressure was applied. Neither Marion Lynch nor Insurrection " amounts to much. The winner was run up 00 over his entered price of 00 by J. E. dishing, but was retained. Winner— B. g, by Bob Milee— Punchy. Went to post at 5 :15. Off at the second break to a good start. Won hand ridden ; second driving to the limit. Sauber was the best and was also ridden with judgment. Vititoe was always in a good position and was in no great hurry to get to the front. In fact he never began to work until the eighth post was passed. Josephine B. surprised many by hanging on as long as she did. This is a useful filly and in good form now. Little Waldo was not strong enough to ride Hub Prather to the best advantage. Donation was never dangerous. Scratched— 20289- Ad nietus. 108; 20174 Clay Poynter. 105; 19938 Catastrophe. 104.
