KENILWORTH BEATEN BEATENKenilworth Kenilworth and Miss Bennett two of the best threeyearold sprinters in the west locked horns yesterday at Worth and the meeting be ¬ tween this pair proved a groat drawing card Kenilworth has been almost invincible on the Pacific Coast during the past winter and Miss Bennetts sprinting ability is well known to the Chicago racegoing public publicMiss Miss Bennett carried 100 pounds and Coburn while Kenilworth had Jesse Mathews as a pilot and was asked to shoulder 115 pounds The distance was at five and a half furlongs and Miss Bennett was tho one favored by the public being backed from 6 to 5 down to 4 to 5 while Kenilworth receded from 3 to 5 to 11 to 10 The pair got away together and raced like a team at a terrific pace to the head of the stretch where Kenilworth cried enough and Mr Bennetts handsome filly came on home by her ¬ self selfCoburn Coburn by a handsome piece of riding landed Laureate a winner by a rioso over Merito jntthe fourth race Merito was by far the best but MathewB rode her like an amateur at the end and her defeat must be charged to him himCoburn Coburn was verv much in evidence Besides winning with Miss Bennett and Laureate he was first past tho post on Ed Austin making it three purses for Mr Bennett and also second with Emma C L LA A goodlooking chestnut colt by Tom Bowl ¬ ing Bolle Ginn belonging to Watkina Golds by broke his leg while being schooled to the barrier before the first race and had to be de ¬ stroyed stroyedIt It rained at intervals during the afternoon but the track remained fast and the racing in every sense of the word was good
