CAVIARS GOOD RACE The usual good crowd was on hand at Haw ¬ thorne yesterday The track was heavy and holding but was drying out fast toward the end of the days sport Betting was the liveliest of tho woek Caviar proved himself a highclass horse in heavy going by picking up his big impost in tho Turf Congress Handicap and making a show of his field Ho was heavily backed The Con ¬ queror II ran disappointingly Boney Boy and Robert Waddell finished far back in the ruck and have probably been racad into stale ness nessThe The Pride favored with a running start took the sprint race in a handy fashion It was his kind of going and he reveled in it Alice Dougherty who showed so well in the mud at Frisco was virtually beaten off and disap ¬ pointed many of her admirers Aladdin won his second race of the week and showed he could score in the mud as wall as on a dry track Red Hook could not negotiate the go ¬ ing Walkenshaw and If Yon Dare breezed home in their respective races As is usual on muddy track days the majority of the races were won in easy fashion
