AMERICAN DEB BY TB TAILS Chicago is Derby mad and such a mighty throng is preparing to go down to Washington Park Saturday that it ie quite on the carde that even the enormous attendance of Worlds Fair year may be eclipsed Yesterday morning enough people went to the track to view the trials cf the Derby candidates to constitute a good attendance at other race tracks and they were rewarded by the privilege of viewing tome highly satisfactory work Bonnibert His Emi ¬ nence Beau Gallant Alfonso Sadie S Ter ¬ minus and Sannazaro all going the full route while others galloped shorter distances The principal features of interest wero these Bonnibert guided by Enllman and carrying 126 pound went the mile and a half in 235 the fractions beicg as follows Eighth 12 seconds quarter 24 threeeighths 36 half 48J fiveeighths 102 threequarters 115 eeveneighths 128 mile 142 mile and an eighth 155 mile and a quarter 209 mile and threeeighths 222 mile and a half 235 Bonnibert worked alone and was not urged out and his trial woa done in a way that was emi ¬ nently eatiefactory His first milo waa not so fast as that of His Eminence but his last half was faster fasterHis His Eminence did the fastest trial of the day the fractions being as follows 12243748 101 113 127 14C 154 2C8 221 235 Odom rode him and he carried 122 pounds His performance was impressive and almost too fast to be beneficial to the colt Beauty Book ran with him through the last seven furlongs furlongsTerminus Terminus was given the first trial of the morning being brought out at 8 oclock with a stable boy in the saddle He covered the full route his fractional time being as follows 13 26 S9 51 104 118 132 145 159 212 226J 239H The trial was said to be satisfac ¬ tory to his stable connections he not being a willing work horse and showing best in his races racesSannazaro Sannazaro ridden by a stable boy covered the route in 238 The colt Raeselas ridden by J Boland traveled with him through the last half The fractions were 13 27 40J 52 107 1 20 1 33 1 46 1 59 2 12 2 25J 2 38 His work did not impress onlookers greatly but ho showed in the St Louis Derby that he can go the route much faster When Haeselas joined him he ran perceptibly faster fasterBean Bean Gallant with 140 pounds of stable boy up did a good milo and a half his fractions being reeled off aa followa Oneeighth 12 onequarter 25 threeeightha 37 half 48 fiveeighths l01Jg threequartersl14 eeveneighths 127 mile 141 milo and a quarter 209 mile and a half 2 S6 It waa a good workonttbnt the Washington Park rail birds are not seriously considering Bean Gal ¬ lant They say he is a good horse in front but a weak one behind Handsome is as handsome does however and the only victor over Com ¬ mando may surprise his detractors detractorsAlfonso Alfonso with H Shields and about 125 pounds up covered the Derby distance in 239 hia fractions being Quarter 2JJ seconds half 49 threequarters 115 mile 143 mile anda rter2ll milaandahalf239 He is said to be a great mud horse horseSadie Sadie B covered the mile and a half in 240 and went on to a mile and fiveeighths in 256 sulking and protesting at all stages Her own ¬ ers say she will not work alone and will only put forth her best efforts when underthe excite ¬ ment of actual racing racingBilverdale Bilverdale did six furlongs iu 117 and waa subsequently sent a mile and a quarter in 2 12f polling up sound and ood The most sensational recent trfal in connec ¬ tion with the Derby was that of The Parader at Sheepshead Bay Wednesday The reported features were the mile in 1 411 and the full dis ¬ tance in 2 33 Thia is a startling performance He left for Chicago yesterday aad will arrive at Washington Park this evening Jockey Joe Piggott comes along to ride him himJockey Jockey N Turner fresh from England has been engaged to ride Bonnibert This lets Bull man out so far as Bonnibert is concerned and he has it is reported been engaged to ride Sil verdale Mr Schorr was negotiating for the services of T Burns but took Bullman when ho found he had the chance It is eaid that L Smith has been engaged to ride Sadie S but it is doubtful if ho is eligible to rido hero Mitchell is coming on to ride Alfonso Charley Littlefield is reported to have changed hia mind about coming out with Water Color and Sweet Lavender LavenderR R Bradley with Robert Waddell Boney Boy and a full Bister to the former airived at the track yesterday and the doughty son of Aloha will go to tho post if ho does not break a leg betwixt cow and Saturday Sam Hildrethe big stable also arrived yesterday yesterdayLady Lady Schorr was given a workout at Harlem yesterday and pulled up slightly lame but Trainer Walkor said she soon walked out of it and apprehends no serious consequences
