KO BEHT WAD DELIS SHERIDAN Tho grand racirg given to the patrons of Washington Park yesterday took on a quasi Derby color and will be remembered for a long time to ccme as one of tbe beet cards that has ever been given by the clnb Tbe crowd kept pouring through the gates jlear UD to three oclock at which time fully thirty thousand persons had entered tbe grounds groundsInterest Interest in the splendid days sport centered in the Sheridan Stakes a scrt of Detby conso ¬ lation affair Four of the starters in the big classic responded to the bugle call in yester ¬ days stake They were Robart Waddell Six Shooter Terminus and His Eminence On post parade the Bradley wonder was greetsd with a generous outburst of applause He looked fit and strong and Bnllman miled confidently at the judges as he passed their stand Off to a good start Jiminez who is not partial to the going vent to the front clcEoly followed by Waddell and the rest well up Bullman laid in behind Jiminez for the first coveneighths whore he gave the gelding his head and in a bound he took the lead Bix Ehootar closed oc him in the last eighth after Jiminez had shot his bolt but WE ddell was runnicg well within himself and easily Ehook off the bold bid of the Res pass colt coming away handily in the last six ¬ teenth snd winning with something to spare by a big lergtb Six Shooter was second about three lengths before Terminus who was so spent in the last eighth that he swerved toward the inside rail His Eminence mado his move when entering the last quarter but gave up the contest at the last eighth pest Brutsl ran an improved race and is due for an early bracket This is the fourth conEocntivo victory for the Bradley gelding who has easily shown his superiority over every threeyearold of promin ¬ ence in the west westThe The first disqualification of the meeting oc ¬ curred in the fifth race when the judges set back Martimas for interforicg with Crocket The two ran lapped tbe entire route but in the last eighth the former began bearirg in on the latter until be had her up against the inside rail The fouling was patent to everybody and judicial action was taken at once Eddie Jones who ran in this race could not extend himsell until in the last sixteenth where be began to cloEO under punishment The track had dried out too much to suit his uncertain underpin ¬ nings ningsFrank Frank Phillips strapping colt Sam Fnllen appears to be a hard hoiee to beat over a soft or muddy track He had no trouble in disposing of Ohnet and Boney Boy in the second race t dash of ono mile lying back in last position for the first half and then going to tha lead in a bound He simply galloped home unextended for the rest of the journey being eased at the end Ohnet made a desperate bid to overhaul him in the last eighth but failed thoroughly Bangle could not run a little bit in the going goingTh Th sprint race went to Borne Bespass Mr Brown who laid in behind Yellow Tail and Money Muss until they had run their heads off and then picked them up at the last eighth from which point to the wire he gradually moved away winning hands down by three lengths while tbe fainthearted Yellow Tail lasted long enough to beat Money Muss a length for second place The last named ran a good race when it is taken into consideration that he Is not particularly fond of soft going goingThe The last race of the day was the most excit ¬ ing of the card Moses Scotch Plaid and Hard Snot running in close companionship to the final eighth where the last named gave it up Scotch Plaid looked for a moment to have tha race welLIn hand but Gormley went to work on Mbsw with euch determination that he got him on even terms with the Burns Water house gelding about fifty yards from home In a ding dong finish Moses got his neck over tbe wire first while Scotch Plaid beat the ex ¬ hausted Hard Knot five lengths for second place
