HAWTHOKNES NEW STAKES In this issue cf DAILY RACING FORM Socre i tary Clark announces the conditions of ten stakes for the meetings to take place at Haw ¬ thorne during the summer and autumn Taken in connection with a similar number offered by Harlem this makes a total of twenty new stakes with which the small army of owners now loca ¬ ted io Chicago must deal between now and July 18 a date close enough at hand to suggest expeditious action in the line i f making en ¬ tries These stakes are to supplement the list of valuable events which clisoa earlier in the year In this list of left over stakes are such attractions as the Northern dtakes witu 5liOO added the Monadn ck with 4000 added the Superior with 2 00 added and four other stakes with fiom 81500 to 2000 adaod As Harlem has an equivalent list it is apparent that the Chicago racing field will crfor rich picking for good race horeea long after the present grand meet ¬ ing at Washington Park has passed into turf history The list now offered is commended to the attention t f western tnifmen with the sug gettion that liberal entries are deservedly in order It will be found when the conditions of these stakes are studied that they provide care ¬ fully for all clacsea and ages of horses now gathered about the local trucks
