GOSSIP OF THE TDBF A meeting of the stewards of the Jockey Club was held at the Saratoga racecourse Saturday afternoon August Belmont J H Bradford F R Hitchcock Andrew Miller and J G Fol lansbee were present Tha secretary was authorized to correct the registration of the twoyearold colt Coldstream from Onondaga Lady Dixon to Onondaga May Dixun The investigation of the Fingal case was postponed awaiting a copy of the official ruling of the Fort Erie Jockey Club Fifty dollars was ap ¬ propriated from the Jockey Fund for exJockey Charles Ossler At the request of tho stewards of the National Steeplechase and Hunt Associa ¬ tion Jockey Jerry Murphy was reinstated In the matter of the charges preferred by Trainer William Karrick against Jockey McGinn for his rides on Lady Radnor at Brighton the stewards decided that the charges were un ¬ founded Tho tweatyeightyearold brood mare Bnff and Blue by War Dance Balloon by York ¬ shire and her daughter by Gilroy foaled in 1879 are dead at Ashland stud the breeding establishment of Mrs John M Clay Buff and Blue was the oldest mare in active stud service She produced among others the Realization winner Bright Phoebus and the Brooklyn Derby winner Rainbow in addition to two other stake winners
