I CHICAGO RACING ENDS. j The cracking good card presented by the Lakeside management yesterday far the last day of the meeting drew ont one of the largest crowds that has visited the track in the last fifteen days. When Bsird passed successfully under the wire in the last race the local racing season of 1901 was a thing of the past. The betting was brisk and heavy, which is usually the case on getaway days. The feature race of the day was the fifth, a dash of one and an eighth milaa for three-year-olds and upward. Hildreths entry, Boiling Boor and Searcher, was made a 7 to 10 favorite, while as good as 11 to 5 could bo had against Orontas. Belling Boer proved to be much the ,bost, lying within easy distance of the leaders until wall straightened away for home, where Coburn called upon him, and be came away with a lino display of speed, winning by three lengths, while Odnor finished one and a half in front of Denmau Thompson for second place. Qrontss, while he made up much ground in the last quarter, failed to show that great speed burst that characterized his recent races, Bearchor had enough when a furlong out. Federal was dropped into an easy spot in the fourth race, an owners handicap at seven furlongs, winning rather easily from Pyrrno by a short length, with Malay an indifferent third. Malay closed up fast in the last eighth nipping the tiring Lennep by a head on the poBt for third money. The track had dried out too fast to suit Lennep. Yulcain had the peculiar distinction of beating the bsBt sprinters in the west when he took the third race, a dash of five and a half fur-longe, in a desperate drive by a short length from Burnie Bunton, which beat Little Jack Horner tix lengths for second place. Yulcain made up ground fast in the last quartor. Burnie Bunton tired slightly when the serene were put on. Money Mues finished a dismal last. He is probably in need of a good long rest. The days opener, a six furlongs sprint, went to the long overdue Maggie Davis, which beat B. G. Fox rather handily by a length. Tha latter finished fast and just got up in time to beat Bam Lazarus, Esq., by a head on the post for second place. Bam Lazarus, Esq., improved Bomewhat suddenly and showed to much netter advantage than ho showed tho day bafore. Olekma appeared to be tho winner when a furlong out, but tired btdly when the hard drivo came. . Inspector Shea ropsated his good race of the day before, taking the second race, a scramble of five furlongs, by a length and a half from Bag Tag, "which beat Hoodwink one for second place. Bag Tag improved suddenly and ran back to his bast form. Aegin and Amigari ran well for a half mile. Stella Perkins ecowed improvement. The mile and a quarter raco rocolved itself into a hot duel between Charley Moore and Ben Chance, tho former winning by a nose. Adme-tus finished third sir lengths back. Charley Moora appeared to be an easy winner in the last eighth, but along in here Ben Chance came with a rush and would have been returned the winner in another stride. Glissando showed well for a little over a mile. The last race of the local eeason for 1901 was taken in a canter by Baird, which beat Evelyn Byrd three lengthB. The latter finished as far in front of Woodstick for second place, Bed Apple and Isabey showed woll for seven furlongs,
