NOTES OF THE TURF. Threo carloads of horses have arrived at Now Orleans from Bennings. Included in the con-Bignmnt are the Btablea of W. C. Daly, T. E. Mannix, W. McAuley, W. T. McGrath, J. J. MacEasBey, F. Bray, Mrs. M.A. Slapk, E. Paters and Tony McCafferty. Along with the Daly Stable came the Hartford turfmans threo riders, Creamer, Brennan and Miles. Jockeys G. Thompson and John Slack also arrived. The former will rid for W. Weir, who will mako his engagements. Thomas Nepper will act in the samo capacity for Slack. There is talk of a race meeting at Kansas City. It is said that W. A. Buls, cashier of tha National Bank of Commerce, is at the head of tho movement, and that the plan is to purchase 125 acres south of Kansas City and convert it into a general sporting ground, with a mile track and grand stand with a seating capacity of 3,500. In the days of the old half-mile track, whice was destroyed to make room for residences, racing waB well patronized at Kansas City, and it looks now to ba a splendid opening for the sport. Geo. Withers left Latonia yesterday with tha stallion Lazzarone and twelve other thoroughbreds for Atlantic, Iowa, where they will be wintered at Joseph Yeagere new farm and breading establishment. A contagious disease of the throat is prevailing among the horses of Nashville, Tenn.t-and is keeping the veterinary surgeons busy.
