Billy Lyons ran a pam race, finished stoutly, and won in the last stride from a bad field. Burns let down in his efforts at the end on Gold Baron or he would probably have won. Limelight appeared to sulk and was under a drive throughout. Colonel Ballentyne displayed much spaed, but tired 8t the end and can beat this kind when right, especially on a slow track. Fondo closed a gap running on the extreme outside on both turns. John Welch was badly handled. Elmsr L., off badly, made up a lot of ground. Billy Lyons, show, 6 to 1, Gold Baron, show, 5 to 1. Jacqueminot, a fine filly, quickly assumed tbe lend and drawing away from the field appeared a certain winner throughout. She is sightly touched in the wiud and may not stay well. Ester Nell, off in front, ran a Bpecdy and game rac but is iuferior to the winner. Cathello finished very strongly lie is on tha small order and probably at a disadvantage with weight up Knockings did well and is worth remembering. Phil Archibald waited on Mazo for half of the journey and went to the front with great ease when called on. Mandzo led apparently on sufferance and was a much improved horse but was lucky to beat Favorito, The latter trailed hopelessly out of contention and closed a tremendous gap witbout urging. Armstrong was indefinitely suspended for his bad looking ride. The others never figured as serious contenders. The entry, show, out. Mazo, show, 1 to 4. Favorito, show, 3 to 5. Commissioner Forster, a natural stayer, trailed to tbe stretch, where he resolutely came through next to the rail under a vigorous ride. Tbe Giver was interfered with on tbe stretch turn and crowded when a furlong out, but finished with a rush. MilaB ran a thoroughly speedy and game race and was going fast at the end. Flo Culver showed brilliant speed and stuck to her work well and should win soon. Jarretiere dOr, of! poorly and quickly rushe 1 to the front, was choked back, probably unnecessarily. When called upon he sprawled and probably Buffered from not being allowed to go on in tbe first half. Sir Levis Bhowed Bpeed early and then quit badly. Scratched-29786 Royalty, 105.
