Cameron is in grand form, made the pace under a stiff pull and when called on in the last quarter came away impressively and at the weights was best. Old England, badly handled and repeatedly interfered wkh, went very wide on the stretch turn and finished fast through the last furlong. Himself was favored by the soft, mellow going and light weight and finished stoutly. The Regent tired in the lust quarter. Lady Uncaa was always outrun. Hurst Park always held the whip hand over his closest attendant, River Pirate, in the running and in spite of the tremendously fast clip gamely stood off the fast coming Africander at the end. The latter was under a drive throughout and kept coming strongly at the end. River Pirate held on remarkably well, after racing with such a crackerjack as the winner. Injunction broke slowly and closing a big gap finished like a cyclone through the stretch. The others were outrun and palpably outclassed. Leonid outclassed the field, indulged Trump with a brief lead and, coming out of close quarters on the stretch turn, came away like a flash in the last furlong. He prefers soft going and gave evidence of soreness before the race. Kalif , choked and hauled all over the track, and swerving in behind the winner in the last furlong, was eaBily second best.
